We’re making some changes to our tradeable assets. As of February 5, 2024, UK shares CFDs will no longer be available on our platform. This article outlines everything you need to know about this update, how it impacts you, and the steps you should take if you’re currently trading CFDs on UK shares.

What’s changing: removal of CFDs on UK shares 

As part of our commitment to give you the best trading experience, we periodically review and update our asset list. After careful consideration, we’ve decided to remove CFDs on UK shares from our trading list. This change will help us align our offerings with market conditions and our strategic goals. It will be effective from February 5, 2024.

The impact on your trading

We understand this change might affect your trading strategy. Here’s what you need to know:

  • For most clients: As you’re not actively trading UK shares, this is just a heads-up. 
  • For active traders of UK shares: If you are currently trading CFDs on UK shares, please be aware of the upcoming changes and plan your trading activities accordingly.

Mark your calendar with these important dates.

By February 2, 2024

  • We encourage you to review your open positions and make any necessary adjustments ahead of this change.

During the weekend of February 3 and 4, 2024:

  • Our Trading Room will review all accounts with open positions on CFDs of UK shares.
  • All open positions on CFDs of UK shares will be closed at the last available price of the trading session on February 2, 2024.
  • CFDs on UK shares will be removed from the list of tradeable instruments in MT4.

Starting February 5, 2024

  • CFDs on UK shares will no longer be available for trading.
  • The instruments will not appear in your MT4 account.

Recommended actions

  • If you trade CFDs on UK shares: It’s important to avoid opening new positions close to the removal date.
  • If you have open positions: Consider closing your positions within the notice period to manage your trades on your terms.
  • If you have open positions on February 2, 2024: Be aware that we will close any remaining open positions on CFDs on UK shares in your account.
